Fissure Sealants

BACK TO HOME

The tiny pits and grooves in the surface of each of your premolars and molars are known as fissures. Tooth decay occurs when food particles and bacteria become trapped in these little crevices. Fissure sealants are protective coatings painted onto the chewing surface of these teeth to help prevent tooth decay.

Speak to us

Any tooth that hasn’t previously been filled can be treated with a fissure sealant. We recommend all children have fissure sealants applied to their molars and premolars as they erupt to reduce the risk of cavities.
